FAQ: can I grow different species of mushrooms in the same room?
Short answer is yes.
Long answer, the species you can grow effectively in the same room, will depend on each species climatic requirements. I have found that shiitake and king oyster do well together and that the “normal” oysters, pink, yellow, grey and white do well in the same room.

Hi , how do i determine the market price of oyster mushrooms ?
Hi
Normally from the local municipal market, but you probably won’t find mushrooms for sale there. A simple way is to find a local retailer and use that price less30%. I work on an average price of R65/kg.

Hi, I have an old (broken) glass fronted fridge. Would it be possible to grow these if I make some modifications to the fridge and can you guide me on what to do?
Yes you can and yes we are able to guide you, perhaps try one of workshops?
how large is the market for small growers
Hi
Always a difficult question. If we define small as 50kg/week, then you should be able to sell it at your local farmers market, restaurants and Spar’s.
Kind regards
